If you’re searching for the right photographer for you and your family you’ve probably seen a wide variety of editing styles. There are many different editing styles from dark and moody to light and airy. With these artistic approaches there is no right or wrong, but it is an important aspect to pay attention to. A photographer’s editing style is very important to your finished product, whether that is artwork, prints, or digital images.
At Portraits by Ambre we have a very authentic approach to editing. While we want everyone to look their very best in their portraits, we also want your natural beauty to shine through. We do remove any acne or scratches, but it’s best to keep any features that are permanent and a part of who you are. (Of course, if a request is made to remove a scar or birthmark, we have no problem accommodating this). We do a light retouching and softening to our images so photos will skin will appear clean and soft, just like we want our skin to look in real life.
We believe all of our clients are beautiful and we don’t want to hide your natural beauty with heavy filters and color altering presents. So, we avoid using tons of filters and presets that can give a color cast to your skin and clothing. We strive to show the natural tones, and keep clothing collar and backdrops true-to-life. If we feel certain images lend themselves to a black and white or sepia toned image we may include that as an option in your gallery, but you will also be given a choice to have the image as a color version also.
